South Africa is one of the few safari countries where a city, a vineyard and a Big Five reserve can sit in the same itinerary without strain.
Cape Town needs time: mountain, Atlantic light, neighbourhood restaurants. The Winelands add slower days. Then a flight to Greater Kruger or Sabi Sand changes the register completely.
Private reserves here are excellent for first-time safari travellers: guiding standards are high, road times are short, and rhino conservation is part of the story.
