Maasai Mara National Reserve and neighbouring conservancies for open plains and migration months; Amboseli for elephant herds and Kilimanjaro views; Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba for northern specialists such as Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe; Tsavo East and West for sheer scale; Lake Nakuru and Naivasha for flamingos, rhino and Rift scenery; plus Laikipia, Meru, Aberdares, Hell’s Gate and Nairobi National Park for varied pacing.

We choose areas according to wildlife movement, road or flight logistics, lodge availability and the atmosphere each traveller wants — private conservancies where they add night drives and space, public parks where they earn their place.
