Materuni is a Chagga village on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro. A local guide leads you along farm paths and through banana groves to the Materuni waterfall, which plunges into a lush green gorge.
Back in the village, you join a family to roast, grind and brew coffee by hand, learning about Chagga farming traditions. Lunch is often served with the hosts.
