10-Day Serengeti & Zanzibar Safari-and-Sea

Big-sky Serengeti plains for predator and plains-game viewing, then Stone Town culture and soft beaches on Zanzibar’s spice coast.

10 Days
Tanzania
Serengeti · Zanzibar

Journey overview

Big-sky Serengeti plains for predator and plains-game viewing, then Stone Town culture and soft beaches on Zanzibar’s spice coast.

We time Serengeti camps to the herds and keep Ngorongoro as a single early morning. Southern parks suit travellers who want fewer vehicles.

This is a starting point. We refine lodges, flying days and pacing around who is travelling, the season and how you like to spend a safari afternoon.

Following the herds

The Serengeti’s open plains suit long game drives and predator viewing. Camp location relative to the migration corridor matters more than a generic park label.

We choose mobile or permanent camps based on season and how many consecutive nights you want in one place.

Regions on this journey

This route focuses on Serengeti · Zanzibar. We adjust lodge choice, flight legs and the number of nights in each area to match your season and travel style.

Planning notes

Travel style: Safari & beach. Migration timing tailored seasonally.

Activities on this journey

  • Full-day game drives on the Serengeti plains
  • Ngorongoro Crater descent
  • Walking safaris in selected areas
  • Hot air balloon over the Serengeti
  • Stone Town and spice tour extensions in Zanzibar

How to get there

International arrivals usually land in Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam. Domestic flights connect the northern circuit efficiently; we also use road transfers where the scenery rewards the journey.

Climate

Tanzania’s dry seasons run roughly June to October and December to February. The long rains from March to May bring lush landscapes and fewer vehicles. Coastal Zanzibar stays warm year-round with refreshing sea breezes.

Best time to visit

July to October suits migration-focused routes. January to March can be excellent for calving season in the south. We align camp choice with the herds and your preferred pace.
