Gishwati-Mukura Chimpanzee Trek

Gishwati-Mukura National Park, Rwanda

About this experience

Gishwati-Mukura is one of Rwanda’s newest national parks, protecting two forest fragments being restored after years of clearance. Guided walks in Gishwati follow a small chimpanzee community, with opportunities to see golden monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and forest birds.

Visitor numbers are tiny, and walks often include community projects that support the forest’s recovery.
