Nyungwe Colobus Monkey Trek

Nyungwe Forest National Park, Rwanda

About this experience

Nyungwe is home to Rwenzori colobus monkeys that sometimes gather in unusually large troops. A guided trek through the forest follows these striking black-and-white monkeys as they leap through the canopy.

The walk is usually shorter and more predictable than chimpanzee tracking, and grey-cheeked mangabeys and forest birds are often seen along the way.

Highlights

  • Large colobus troops
  • Shorter, easier walk
  • Mangabeys and forest birds
