Kilimanjaro Machame Route Trek

Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania

About this experience

Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest mountain and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Machame route is one of its most scenic ascents, passing through rainforest, heath and moorland to the alpine desert before a pre-dawn push to Uhuru Peak.

Most itineraries take six or seven days, allowing time to acclimatise. Summit success is never guaranteed and depends on fitness, weather and how your body adapts to altitude.

Highlights

  • Five climate zones in one trek
  • Barranco Wall scramble
  • Sunrise summit attempt
