Lake Kivu’s shores and islands (including quieter bays near Kibuye/Karongi and Rubavu) give Rwanda its “island” feeling — swimming, coffee visits and lake light after volcano days. This is freshwater rest, not an Indian Ocean beach substitute, and that honesty is part of its charm.
